NETS AWARD - Towards Sustainable Mobility in Tourism
At the ITB Berlin 2005 the NETS AWARD 2004/2005 "Innovative holiday trips by train" was awarded for the first time in Europe!

On Monday the 14^th of March the winners of the NETS AWARD "Innovative holiday trips by train 2004/2005" were awarded at the ITB Berlin by Eugenio Yunis, World Tourism Organisation (WTO), department for sustainable development in tourism and by Robert Thaler, Austrian Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management.

NETS, in close collaboration with ECOTRANS, launches this European Award in order to find and promote "Innovative Holiday Trips by Train of the year 2004/05".

This initiative responds to the many requests and ideas we have received from
colleagues around Europe suggesting that "something concrete should be done in the field of sustainable tourism and transport !".
NETS and ECOTRANS feel encouraged to take this joint step to identify examples of good practice from many countries, in order to promote them, and to disseminate the results to both the public and to tourism professionals and administrations.
