Overview

The Austrian Federal Ministry for Environment, Youth and Family and the European Commission, General Directorate XI Environment, cordially invites you to participate in the international conference held within the Austrian presidency of the European Union.

The conference will focus on the integration and implementation of sustainable development in traffic, tourism, and the environment. Innovative European models and pilot projects for an environmentally friendly leisure-mobility will be presented.

Objective of this conference is also to found a practical action-network for Soft Mobility for tourism regions, transport organisations, tour operators, tourism-, environment-, and traffic associations and the tourism generating regions. Thus, this conference will contribute to a sustainable quality tourism in Europe and will generate recommendations for decision- makers.

Institutions, organisations, enterprises, initiative-groups and individuals identifying with the targets of an environmentally friendly tourism and traffic policy are invited to join the conference –tourism destinations as well as tourism generating countries and regions.

The conference will provide direct exchange of information and contacts with potential partners of co-operation. Companies, organisations and initiative-groups will be given the chance to introduce themselves to the public and the press at an exhibition organized at the conference.

The conference will be translated simultaneously into German, English, French and Italian. For participation please submit your registration form until 4 Dec. 1998 the latest.
